Business Casual ~ And how 10 became 14.

Good evening everyone! Maria here, I just want to say thanks for the encouragement to start writing this blog, and want to mention my sister Leigha M, for giving me the word I needed to hear to put this in motion!
Ok, well as some of you know from my Instagram account, I recently got a new job. I start Tommorow morning and I have to wear "Business Casual" Now, this posed a dilemma for me, as I usually wear a uniform for my job, and so the majority of my "out of work" clothes are casual chic, but not very business like! I had to expand my 10 item wardrobe this weekend to a 14 item wardrobe after visiting Ann Taylor for smart trousers and 3 blouses! It's been a while since I purchased clothes as I've tried to really enjoy the items that I already have before just buying things I don't really need on impulse. Shopping for my "work" outfit was so much fun! I'll be posting some pictures on my Instagram this week of the new outfits I purchased. I also bought 2 beautiful necklaces from Kendra Scott at Nordstrom, and I love how versatile they are with both a laid back outfit, and a smart outfit! Please feel free to comment with advice or tips on your ideas of what "Business Casual" looks like, and how you incorporate it into your closet.
Thanks for visiting my new blog and have a great week! ~

  1. Hi :) I'm loving the blog! I was wondering if you'd read the book Lessons from Madame Chic? You probably have since you did a post on the 10 item wardrobe but in case you haven't I really recommend it, it's one of my favorites. I did a post on that book and it's sequel on my blog. I hope you keep writing more posts!! -
